Origin
The founder’s relationship with scent began in childhood.
During summer days in the countryside, she would sit beneath the eaves
doing her homework while her father sawed cypress wood in the courtyard.
The fresh scent of the wood, carried by the warm air,
became one of her earliest memories of smell.
Years later, photography became a way of observing subtle
changes in nature — light, texture, weather and time.
Incense gradually became an extension of this practice:
another medium through which those impressions could be perceived and remembered.
Philosophy
We see scent as a way of perceiving the relationship between
the outer world and our inner experience.
Nature changes with season, weather and time;
our perception changes with it.
Through natural aromatic materials,
SSLK explores how scent can shift our awareness of space,
memory and the present moment.
Aesthetics
In traditional Chinese art, empty space is not simply absence;
it allows the image to breathe and leaves room for perception and imagination.
This idea also shapes the visual language of SSLK.
We reduce unnecessary elements and allow materials,
light, texture and space to remain visible in their own form.
The same principle extends to our incense and objects: rather than adding more, we focus on what is essential.
