Introspection
The Introspection series reinterprets historical
Chinese incense formulas through a contemporary approach to scent.
Connect, Observe and Awaken form a gradual inward movement — to enter,
to become still, and to perceive again.
Connect 参
Based on a formula recorded in Xiang Cheng,
Connect brings together agarwood, sandalwood, herbs and resins.
Deep, quiet and slightly timeworn,
it unfolds slowly, revealing more with time.
Observe 止
A contemporary interpretation of the historical Huarui Furen formula.
Aged agarwood, sandalwood, frankincense and natural borneol create a rich yet composed scent,
with a clear, subtle lift beneath its woody depth.
Awaken 觉
Developed from the historical Rose Incense formula in Xiang Cheng.
Herbal and gently spiced notes move into agarwood and benzoin,
creating a soft, enveloping scent that gradually comes into focus.
Collaboration
The series was developed with Italian ceramic and visual artist Chiara Della Santina.
Each incense holder was individually designed in response to the scent and concept of Connect,
Observe and Awaken, and handcrafted in dark stoneware fired above 1200°C.
